From 28 May to 28 September 2025, the Castle of Santa Severina (KR) will host the pictorial exhibition ‘’The Villans‘ Bible: images of a popular God’', with works by Nobel prize winner Dario Fo, in a journey between jesters and villans, between the sacred and the profane of medieval Calabria.
A cultural project interweaving art, history and popular narration, under the artistic direction of Franco Eco and curator Stefano Bertea, bringing to light the most authentic and ironic dimension of the faith lived in the peasant communities of the past.
The initiative is enriched by two workshop events in Crotone, at the Carlo V Castle, organised by Andrea Giuda and Controtempo Teatro:
- Saturday 7 June, 5-8 pm
The Mask and the Commedia dell'Arte I - Saturday 14 June, 17:00-20:00
The Mask and the Commedia dell'Arte II
