On Saturday 6 December 2025, at 6 p.m., the National Gallery of Cosenza will inaugurate "Art, Save Me. Art saved", an exhibition dedicated to works confiscated from organised crime and a tribute to journalist Giancarlo Siani.
Inside the Museum, a cultural landmark and symbol of civic engagement, works from seized assets entrusted to the National Agency for the Administration and Destination of Confiscated Assets (ANBSC) will be presented, now an integral part of the Gallery's permanent collections.
The exhibition offers an overview of different languages and periods, from the post-war period to the 2000s, with historicised artists such as Afro Basaldella, Giulio Turcato and Antonio Corpora of the 'Gruppo degli Otto', the masters of the Transavantgarde Sandro Chia and Mimmo Paladino, Piero Dorazio and Emilio Isgrò, to the contemporary creations of Francesco de Molfetta and Maurizio Savini.
"Art, Save Me. Art saved" shows how art can become an instrument of memory, legality and rebirth, transforming assets seized from illegal activities into shared cultural heritage.
