Antonio Grosso - Damn it, Lieutenant

On 12 December 2025, Lamezia Terme will host Antonio Grosso's play Damn it, Lieutenant at the Grandinetti Theatre, a comedy that tackles the theme of the Mafia with intelligence, irony and sensitivity.

Set in Sicily in 1992, in a small village with a police barracks perched on a mountain, the play recounts the daily lives of the soldiers, each from a different Italian region, as they grapple with paradoxical and surreal situations: from the chicken thief who disturbs the port, to a madman who reports impossible things, to personal stories and absurd prohibitions. The arrival of a lieutenant will test the unity of the five carabinieri, transforming their daily lives into a mix of banter, irony and moments of reflection. Damn it, Lieutenant is a story that, through laughter, invites us to confront injustice with courage and lightness, offering the audience a direct look at reality without ever turning away.
