The Fuscaldo Anchovies Festival is back, the mouth-watering event on the Tyrrhenian coast, in the province of Cosenza, that puts one of the Mediterranean's best-loved and healthiest foods on the plate.

Festival History

It was 2011 when Fuscaldo, one of the most popular seaside towns on the Tyrrhenian coast of Cosenza, decided to dedicate a gastronomic festival to one of its typical products of excellence: anchovies.

Thus the Fuscaldo Anchovies Festival was born. Not a feast but a real festival, with a series of appointments and side events ranging from music to tastings.

Why just anchovies? Anchovies at the festival, in Fuscaldo, are recognised as an identity food and a source of economy for an entire community of fishermen who, from father to son, proudly hand down the traditional fishing of this oily fish.

It is no coincidence that anchovies also appear in bright colours on the murals that decorate the Marina di Fuscaldo.

Programme 2024

Like every year, the Fuscaldo Anchovies Festival is an explosion of tastes, flavours, knowledge, shows, music and various forms of entertainment.

From 1 to 4 August, come and discover the surprises of this edition of the Fuscaldo Anchovies Festival and treat yourself to a taste of Fuscaldo anchovies declined in a thousand ways: from the typical stuffed anchovies to anchovies balls, not forgetting the ever-present fried in "cuòppo". To welcome you, a fair village in grand style, with dozens of stands and exhibition spaces.

Everything will be enriched by the customary ‘twinning’ with other seaside resorts on the Calabrian Tyrrhenian coast, each of which will be called upon to share its gastronomic excellence, from the prized Red Onion of Tropea PGI to the Diamante Chilli Pepper.
