Versi diVini 2023

The Volo association was established in 2015 with the intention of being the bearer of a message of civic and cultural renewal for the city of Siderno. The association's inspiring principle is the dissemination of culture as the only vehicle for social promotion. The association aims to take any initiative useful for the dissemination of culture in all its aspects in the city's social life.

With this in mind, the Volo cultural association presents the "Versi diVini" event. A review of poems by artists from our land that represents a continuum with a whole series of events already realised by the association in past years, with poetry, the highest expression of the cultural spirit, as the leitmotif. An evening therefore under the banner of poetry that this year will be enriched by valuable collaborations such as that of some Calabrian wine producers, such as: the Statti, Ippolito, Zito, Lento and Malaspina wineries.

Thus an event within the event was born, the association in fact intended to create a marriage between poetry and good wine, starting from the central theme of the recitation of poems that will be accompanied by the tasting of wines and typical products of our land. Each poem will be paired with a wine that will recall in its aromatic bouquet the sensation and feeling that inspired the poem itself, a sort of sensory journey that from the written work floats into the wine tasting.

The evening will be presented by the president of the association Avv. Giuseppe Caruso and the writer M. Carmela Mugnano. During the evening, six poems by important authors will be recited in correspondence with the wine tasting. There will be an interlude during which actor Antonio Tallura will recite a monologue on wine. Both the poetry reading and the monologue will be accompanied by guitarist Sergio Delicato. Wine will be combined with the literary works also thanks to the collaboration of two sommeliers chosen for the occasion, who during the course of the evening will be in charge of the wine pouring and table management, where spectators will be seated. The nature of the event is purely cultural in nature, aimed at showcasing the talents and products of our land.

The event will be held on 18 August 2023 at Piazza San Nicola in Siderno Superiore, the beating heart of the town and a renowned ancient village framed by an evocative historical and natural setting. The initiative is non-profit. The event will have the patronage of the Regional Council, the Municipality of Siderno and Ascoa (Association of traders and craftsmen).
