The Narrating Doors Festival

San Benedetto Ullano will host the fourth edition of the extemporary painting exhibition "The Narrating Doors", which this year becomes a festival. From 11 to 13 August 2023, various artists will paint the history of the village on some of the doors in the historic centre, interpreting, with their art, episodes from the history, culture and precious spirituality of this Calabrian Arbëreshë municipality. It will be three intense days, dedicated to art, history, food and wine, social sharing and music, with the active participation of the entire community committed to opening its doors to welcome five Calabrian artists who will bring life, with their works, to the historic centre.

The programme for these three days is very rich:

• On Friday 11 August at 6pm in front of the narrative door of Palazzo Bisciglia there will be the opening conference of the event and the presentation of the painting exhibition by Maestro Francesco Senise. 
• On Saturday 12 August, at 6 p.m., Palazzo Bisciglia will host a conference on the "Pontificio Collegio Corsini" by Dr. Maria Franca Cucci. At 9 p.m. in the historical centre, there will be a performance of "serenate arbëreshë" with the performance of viersh, traditional love songs at the window of the beloved. At the same time, the "Ullania" group will perform a repertoire of traditional songs and dances, enlivening the village. 
• On Sunday 13 August at 5.30 p.m., a theatrical performance and historical re-enactment of the village will take place along the route of the narrative doors with storyteller William Gatto and T. Campanella Park. At 9.30 p.m.: concert by the Sabatum Quartet.

From Friday 11 to Sunday 13: at Palazzo Bisciglia, personal exhibition by master Francesco Senise "Colori d'Arberia". From Saturday 12 at 4 p.m. until the end of Sunday: Expo "Diversamente Calabria" with food and wine, handicrafts and local art.
