Radio 100 - the future is on the air

From 20 to 22 September 2024, Praia a Mare will host ‘Radio 100, the future is on the air’, an event dedicated to 100 years of radio. The event, organised by Umberto Labozzetta, includes three days of activities with the participation of important protagonists of Italian radio.

The programme includes meetings, conferences, and screenings of docufilms on the history of radio. It will open on 20 September with greetings from the mayor and a Master Class at the Liceo Classico in Praia a Mare. The opening evening in Piazza Italia will feature the video ‘Un secolo di Storie’ (A Century of Stories) and will host a discussion between Umberto Labozzetta and Francesco Repice, followed by a concert by the Calabrian band Tiziana Bertuca Quartet. Activities will continue on 21 September with the conference ‘Radio in the Digital Age’ and will be enriched by yoga lessons and walks organised with the WWF. 22 September will end with a dawn concert by jazzman Walter Ricci at the Birima Glamour Beach.

Two docufilms will also be presented: ‘Souvenir D'Italie’ and ‘People From Cecchetto’. The weekend will also include talks with experts and a Disco Radio Show, with national and international coverage.
