An evening of identity and rebirth to celebrate the excellence of Taurianova

Prizes and Competitions
Premio Araba Fenice
On Tuesday 15 July 2025, at 10 p.m., the charming Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II in Taurianova will host the 25th edition of the Phoenix Arab Award, a symbolic and eagerly awaited event that pays tribute to prominent figures linked to the city, who are leading figures in the professional, social and cultural spheres.
Born from an idea of Archpriest Don Alfonso Franco and now carried on with commitment by Don Cesare Di Leo, parish priest of Saints Peter and Paul, the Award is a tangible sign of the community's gratitude towards those who, through their commitment, have raised the name of Taurianova beyond regional borders. The 2025 edition will be enhanced by the artistic direction of Cettina Nicolosi and the hosting of journalist Dominga Pizzi, for an evening that intertwines storytelling, memory and pride in identity.
The Phoenix Arab Award recalls the image of the mythological bird that rises from its own ashes, a symbol present in the banner of the historic municipality of Jatrinoli – one of the founding nuclei of today's Taurianova – and becomes the emblem of a community capable of resisting, transforming and regenerating itself.
