Mountain Roots Festival
two days of events in Sorbo San Basile
Family
The "Radici di Montagna" festival of Sorbo San Basile was created to offer an opportunity for collective reflection and rethinking of the strategies for enhancing an internal area such as that of the Presila in Catanzaro through art, music, culture and sociality. The festival is built over two days, 23 and 24 August, in which debates, events, shows and tastings will be held. There will be two moments of reflection and debate: the first, dedicated to issues relating to the urban, economic and social regeneration of small towns and suburbs, the second, will focus on the theme of memory and culture as strategic assets of innovation and cultural regeneration. The moments of meeting and debate will be interspersed with playful-recreational events of various kinds such as: the puppet show aimed at everyone, young and old, organized by the Teatro della Maruca; the musical show of the Hantura, the group that performed its popular Calabrian music in Italy and in Europe and finally the theatrical show of the Tutto Esauriti company that will offer moments of fun and entertainment. There will be convivial moments of tasting and promotion of local products that will highlight the value of the typical food and wine of the area. The main objective is to maintain the balance between tradition, identity and folklore in a contemporary vision of the mountain and its customs today more than ever affected by new socio-economic changes and for these reasons capable of triggering new development prospects . The Sorbese "roots of the mountain" festival will be an event rich in culture, music, art and entertainment for all ages and will enliven a territory rich in tradition and identity in which the mountain is the beating heart of the life of a hardworking and resilient community .
