On Monday 18 August 2025, the Museum and Archaeological Park of San Sosti (CS) will host the eighth edition of the Mario Carbone Award, a day dedicated to discovering the local archaeological heritage and promoting photography as a tool for storytelling and memory.
In the morning, starting at 8:30 a.m., there will be a guided excursion to the Casalini archaeological area of San Sosti, departing from the square in front of the Shrine and returning at 12:30 p.m. A journey through history and landscape that will lead visitors to discover the medieval citadel and the ancient traces preserved in the heart of the territory.
In the afternoon, starting at 5:00 p.m., the Multimedia and Archaeological Museum of San Sosti will open its doors with a guided tour, educational workshops and an exhibition dedicated to the archaeological parks of the Sibaritide.
This will be followed, from 6:00 pm, by photographic art with an exhibition of a selection of images by master photographer Mario Carbone and a collective exhibition by participants in the photography competition promoted by the Movendo Lux association. The evening will conclude with the official award ceremony for the winners of the 8th Mario Carbone Prize, dedicated to the theme “Let's meet history”.
