On 28 February (9 p.m.) and 1 March 2026 (5.30 p.m.), the Cilea Theatre in Reggio Calabria will host Eugene O'Neill's 'Long Day's Journey Into Night', starring Gabriele Lavia and Federica Di Martino, directed by Gabriele Lavia.
Written between 1941 and 1942 and posthumously awarded the Pulitzer Prize, the drama recounts a day in the life of the Tyrone family, amid conflicts, addictions and painful secrets. Set in 1912, the text blends realism, melodrama and expressionism, presenting a raw and poignant portrait of family dynamics and human fragility.
With an intense and engaging staging, the show brings tenderness and violence, love and contempt to the stage, showing the home as a prison and a place of memory and bitterness. An extraordinary opportunity to experience the emotion of classic American theatre through the sensitivity and interpretative power of Gabriele Lavia.
