From 18 to 20 July 2025, the coastal village of San Ferdinando will host the third edition of Collective Visions, the urban regeneration festival promoted by DISìO, in partnership with Architensions and Kiwi, and with the patronage of the Municipality, the Calabria Region, the Port System Authority of the Southern Tyrrhenian and Ionian Seas, the Academy of Fine Arts of Reggio Calabria and the Fondazione Italia Patria della Bellezza ETS.
This year's theme is “Fronte Mare Mondo”: a view that starts from the Tyrrhenian coast of Calabria and expands, through the geographies of memory and the present, to Venice and New York. A dialogue between the local and the global that takes shape through participatory artistic, architectural and cultural practices, including talks, workshops, installations and screenings.
18 July – Memory and roots
The evening opens with a meeting dedicated to the story of Eranova, the original settlement of San Ferdinando and a symbol of the still-open wounds of the territory. The inhabitants' stories are intertwined with a talk by artist Martin Errichiello and a previously unseen video by director Andrea Muratore. Following this, S'amujamu, an experiential workshop by Radici in viaggio, takes participants on an immersive journey through Calabrian migration.
19 July – Regeneration as a collective project
A creative workshop for children on paper recycling opens the day, teaching the value of sustainability through play. In the evening, a multi-voice talk, moderated by Nino Princi and Simona Lombardo, brings together experts in culture, economics and urban planning to reflect on the many forms of regeneration: architects, economists, sociologists and institutional representatives will participate.
20 July – Liquid margins and future prospects
The final evening opens with a video contribution from the Port Authority and continues with a dialogue between Alessandro Orsini and Nick Roseboro (Architensions/Columbia University), protagonists of the urban planning project that connects San Ferdinando to New York and the Venice Architecture Biennale. This will be followed by a talk with Jasmine De Marco, Domenico Bonelli and other guests, moderated by Agostino Pantano, exploring the relationship between landscape, margins and community. The evening will conclude with the documentary I colori del silenzio (The Colours of Silence) by Stefano Garaffa Botta, dedicated to the value of the river as a resource and memory.
