From 24 to 31 May 2025, the village of Celico, in the heart of the Sila National Park, will become a stage of excellence for the Celico International Art Festival, a unique event that blends cinema, theatre, music, meetings and masterclasses with internationally renowned guests.
The festival opens on Saturday 24 May, at 20:00, with an opening ceremony at the Celico Theatre of the Arts, followed by a celebratory screening of A History of Violence, twenty years after the film's release. The famous director David Cronenberg, one of the absolute protagonists of the festival, will be present.
The rich and varied programme includes:
- 25 May: Paolo Vivaldi in Quintet in an exciting musical tribute to Ennio Morricone (Teatro delle Arti, 9 pm)
- 26 May: meeting with David Cronenberg and screening of The Fly at the Cinema Citrigno in Cosenza (8 pm)
- 27 May: original language screening of The Shrouds at Unical (7:00 pm), with talks by Bruno Roberti and Daniele Dottorini, preceded by the masterclass ‘Master & Slave’ (10:30 am)
- 28 May: double theatrical event with Mario Pirovano and his ‘Lu Santo Jullare Francesco’ (Teatro delle Arti, 8 pm), preceded in the morning by a meeting with students
- 29 May: workshop at Unical with Mario Pirovano (10am-1pm) and evening meeting with soprano and actress Katia Ricciarelli (Teatro delle Arti, 8pm)
- 30 May: a day with Peppe Servillo and his concert ‘Melodie napoletane sulle note del passato’ (9:30 pm), preceded by Mario Pirovano's workshop on Dario Fo's monologues
- 31 May: an intense closing with three appointments on the theme of legality: at 5 p.m. Al posto sbagliato by Francesco Pupa, at 7 p.m. an interview with Nicola Gratteri and Antonio Nicaso, curated by Arcangelo Badolati, at 9 p.m. the show Mistero Buffo by Dario Fo and Franca Rame with Mario Pirovano.
