Catanzaro celebrates San Vitaliano: three days of devotion, art and tradition

Catanzaro is preparing to celebrate San Vitaliano, the city's patron saint, with a big festival that will animate the historic centre for three days, from 14 to 16 July 2025. A rich and varied programme will transform the heart of the city into a widespread stage of culture, music, tradition, gastronomy and entertainment. Organised with the support of the Pro Loco Catanzaro, the event will be divided into six thematic areas - Food, Exhibitions, Shows, Culture, Workshops and Sport & Dance - designed to involve citizens and visitors of all ages.
Among the main events:
14 July: popular music concert with Linea Jonica in Piazza Prefettura, opening of the markets and the exhibition “Catanzaro: between history, tradition and devotion” at the former Stac. Guided tours and craft workshops are also scheduled.
15 July: big evening concert in Piazza Prefettura and artistic performances on Terrazza Bellavista, with the participation of local shopkeepers in the food and wine identity trail.
16 July: theatrical performance in dialect with ‘Ricordi d'a Ruga’ by Teatro Incanto and the ‘Vita...liano Quiz!’ theatre game. Space will also be given to sports and dance performances in Piazza Roma and Villa Margherita, before the grand finale at Terrazza Bellavista.
