To celebrate its 25th edition, the Catanzaro Jazz Fest is holding two days of music, itineraries and performances to mark Music Day. This free event is open to all and will bring jazz, stories and sound suggestions to Villa Margherita and the city's historic centre.
The programme begins on Saturday 21 June at 5.00 p.m. with the itinerary 'The Silk Roads', curated by Angela Rubino. This takes visitors on a journey through Catanzaro's past, exploring the historic quarters and sites associated with the ancient art of silk production that made the city famous throughout Europe. From 8.30 p.m., there will be concerts featuring the Tchaikovsky Jazz Trio, a young Calabrian group accompanied by Diletta Carrozzino on vocals. The evening continues at 9.30pm with the Lorenzo Iorio Trio and their project, 'Anatomy of a Dream', which tells a tale through music, combining experimentation with cinematic atmospheres.
The festival will close on Sunday 22 June at 8.30 p.m. with Ballad for a Tree, an acoustic performance by Francesco Caligiuri. Inspired by the dialogue between man and nature, it promises to be an immersive and evocative sound experience.
