Autumn Festival | Wonder - Opera Gala

The most important symphonic opera arias will be revived at the 20th Autumn Festival through the tribute that the Orchestra Sinfonica Calabrese conducted by maestro Francesco Ledda will pay to one of the greatest tenors of all time: Enrico Caruso. Among other pieces on the programme are some of the most important and famous arias by Gioachino Rossini, Georges Bizet, and Ernesto De Curtis.

It will be an enthralling programme the one proposed by the Orchestra Sinfonica Calabrese, a very young formation recognised by the Ministry of Culture and engaged since the very beginning in an intense concert activity, created precisely to enhance the musical talent of our territory. Since its foundation, it has in fact performed programmes on the greatest composers in history, from Amadeus Mozart to contemporary Ennio Morricone, to whom it dedicated the concert held last year for the Festival.

Since its first productions, the orchestra has enjoyed the collaboration of some of the most important conductors and soloists of international renown. Many of the guest conductors are at the head of important opera and concert institutions in Europe and around the world, starting with the Artistic Director of the Orchestra Sinfonica Calabrese, Maestro Salvatore Accardo, one of the greatest exponents of the Italian violin school as well as a famous conductor.

"Wonder - Opera Gala" will take place at Soverato's Municipal Theatre on 27 August 2023.
