Parco Marino Baia di Soverato - Giovanni Laganà

Soft, white sand, crystal-clear sea: the Regional Marine Park ‘’Bay of Soverato‘’ is a natural paradise and its splendid seabed is a treasure trove of treasures to be discovered, populated by protected species such as the needle fish, the giant mollusc Tonna Galea and - above all - by two specimens of seahorses (the Hippocampus Hippocampus and the Hippocampus Guttulus), which are the symbol of Soverato.

They call it the ‘’Pearl of the Ionian Sea‘’, Blue Flag several times, because Soverato's sea is among the clearest in Calabria, characterised by sandy seabeds and transparent waters. The protected area of the Bay of Soverato is included in the coastal stretch facing the Ionian side of the Calabrian coast, bordered, to the south, by the mouth of two small streams into which the waters of the Caramante also flow, and, to the north, by the mouth of the Mortara ditch and the Soverato stream.
