Autumn Festival | Gonzalo Rubalcaba & Pierrick Pédron

An unmissable appointment for lovers of great music with the national premiere concert of the duo Gonzalo Rubalcaba and Pierrick Pédron. Rubalcaba is in fact a true jazz legend: he is one of those great pianists that nothing and no one can resist. Inspired by both Afro-Cuban and Western traditions, he attracted international attention very early on and began a fruitful collaboration with the legendary Blue Note label, with which he recorded fifteen albums. Winner of four Grammy Awards and 18 Latin Grammys, he has collaborated with jazz monuments such as Dizzy Gillespie, Chick Corea, Al Di Meola, Herbie Hancock, among others, and continues to tour the world, recognised as one of the great contemporary piano masters.

Rubalcaba arrives at the 20th Autumn Festival together with Pierrick Pédron, an alto saxophone virtuoso, defined by the media as a key figure on the French scene. The two will present to the Calabrian public in a national premiere, their album entitled "Pédron/Rubalcaba", with which they recently won the award for Best Album of 2023 in France. The album is the result of the extraordinary and exclusive encounter of this unusual duo: a journey through international music that reveals from the very first notes the esteem and deep symbiosis between the two musicians, as well as a sincere friendship.
