“A Pigghjata” returns to Badolato after 25 years

On Saturday 12 April 2025, at 5 p.m., the ancient village of Badolato is preparing to host a unique event: the return of ‘’A Pigghjata‘’, the historical sacred theatre performance dedicated to the crucifixion of Jesus.
After 25 years of absence, this evocative tradition is coming back to life in the streets of the village, on the occasion of the Jubilee 2025. Piazza Castello will become the heart of an exciting re-enactment, involving around 100 people including actors, extras, technicians, coordinators, set designers and volunteers.
An event that is more than a show: it is a moment of faith, history and community, combining tradition and popular participation in an evocative and timeless setting.
