Norman Castle

Castle
The first record of the Norman Castle in Stilo dates back to 1093 and is part of a concession by Count Roger. The castle has triangular towers except those surrounding the fort, which are circular in shape. The central area was a chapel-church with a main altar and four adjacent altars.
The castle is accessed by a path that starts from the Cattolica, another monument for which Stilo is famous, and follows a route marked by the 14 Stations of the Via Crucis. Once there, the remains of the side walls and the central body are visible.
