Calabria Straordinaria's "Pollino 2022" kicks off

This is the "Pollino 2022" pilot project, promoted by the Calabria Region's Tourism Department: from 7 to 10 October, it brings numerous buyers and operators from the national and international tourism sector to the mountainous area of Calabria. The event, organised in cooperation with Modena Fiere, which is part of the Bologna Fiere group and an international leader in the active tourism sector, will turn the spotlight on the Pollino area as an ideal stage for experiential tourism itineraries linked to the natural beauty and numerous areas of activity in the area. Guests are thus accompanied to discover the area and the numerous attractions offered by the tourist operators present on the Pollino, through a carefully selected programme, with the aim of enhancing the many peculiarities of the Calabrian side of the mountain system, a unique ecosystem and a privileged destination for nature lovers. It is precisely this synergic collaboration with the area's tourist operators that is the driving force behind the event, which was conceived and implemented to provide an effective channel of communication between the natural beauty of the Pollino, its related activities and tourist operators from various parts of the world, with the aim of publicising the peculiarities of this natural stage. The event is fully part of the initiatives promoted by Calabria Straordinaria, which, under the leadership of the Calabria Region's Tourism Department, aims to spread the tourism brand of Calabria at all levels as an ideal destination for an increasing number of visitors from all over the world. The Pollino 2022 pilot project welcomes participants on Friday, 7 October with a welcome toast at the Norman Castle of Morano Calabro (CS), where guests are awaited in a period setting by locals dressed in traditional costumes. The event's programme includes numerous participations in the unmissable practices of the Pollino, such as rafting, canyoning, trekking, e-biking, as well as visits to the architectural beauties of the surrounding municipalities and tastings of typical products and slow food presidia.
