The evocative Living Passion of Christ returns to Guardavalle. This historical re-enactment combines faith, tradition and the participation of the local community.
Taking place on Wednesday, 1 April at 8.30 pm, the performance starts in Piazza Carmine and unfolds as a procession through the most characteristic spots in the historic centre. The village's narrow streets, squares and vistas are transformed into a vast open-air stage for the occasion.
Directed by Ester Montepaone, this sacred performance features a cast of local participants and volunteers who will bring the most significant moments of the Passion to life. The village's architecture and the evening atmosphere become integral to the narrative, helping to create an intense, immersive experience.
The Living Passion of Christ is a significant religious and cultural event for the local area, attracting visitors and the faithful every year. Through folk theatre, it recounts a tradition that is deeply rooted in the community. It offers visitors the chance to experience Guardavalle in a truly authentic way, surrounded by spirituality, history and shared memory.
