Locrian Department Festival

For the second year running, the evocative setting of the Mother Church at the Carafa Castle in Roccella Ionica will host the 5th edition of the Locrian Department - Festival della Scala Musicale Locrese, entitled ‘La Fortezza del Suono’.

The project includes a one-week Artistic Residency, from 8 to 14 September 2024, for the production of an original musical work. The guest artists of the 5th edition of the Festival will be:

• Frances Marie Uitti, anointed by the New York Times and Washington Post as ‘the most interesting cellist on the planet’;
• Ingar Zach, percussion master at the Oslo Conservatory;
• Alessandra Rombolà, flutist of Calabrian origin and teacher at the Conservatory of Madrid;
• Alessandra Laganà, musician, creator, author and producer;
• Tommaso Marletta, musician and artistic producer of the Locrian Festival Department;
• Ingo J. Biermann, Berlin-based film maker trained at the prestigious Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie in Berlin (DFFB).
