Live Nativity Scene in Aiello Calabro

On 27 December 2025 and 5 January 2026, Aiello Calabro opens the doors of its historic centre for the fifth edition of the Living Nativity Scene, a much-anticipated event that takes visitors on a journey into the heart of Calabrian Christmas traditions.

From 6pm to 9pm, the streets of the village come alive with over 300 costumed figures, who bring the scenes of the Nativity to life along a route of more than a kilometre. Amongst narrow streets, picturesque views and ancient crafts, each stage tells the story of Christmas through gestures, atmospheres and tales of times gone by.
