The second edition of IstmoFest, the event that combines shows, workshops, music and art in various venues of the hilltop village located in the heart of the Catanzaro Isthmus, is back in Cortale. The festival aims to enhance the territory even in the low season, offering a mix of tradition and innovation.
Programme
Thursday 3 October:
10:00 a.m.: Start of the ‘TeatroLabirinto’ theatre workshop organised by LaboArt, inspired by the Greek myth of the Labyrinth of Knossos (until 5 October, with public return on Saturday).
7 pm: Cross-media show ‘Petrolini Infinito’ with Enoch Marrella and music by Paolo Panfilo.
9 pm: Concert by Gianni Riga on saxophone and tasting of local products.
Friday 4 October:
6pm: ‘Cunti e ricunti’, folk tales with musical accompaniment by Rosamaria Laugelli (piano) and Antonia Melina (transverse flute).
Saturday 5 October:
7 pm: Return of the ‘TeatroLabirinto’ workshop.
9 p.m.: New concert by Gianni Riga.
Sunday 6 October:
5:30 pm: Performance by the folk group ‘I Curtalisi’ and vernacular comedy ‘A ruga vecchia’.
7 pm: Performance ‘Appunti per un Narciso’ (Notes for a Narcissus) by Francesco Carchidi with music by Valerio Mirone aka Pakkyōne.
7.30 p.m.: Conclusion with the musical performance by Valerio Mirone.
Throughout the duration of the event, it will be possible to visit the exhibition ‘’From the silkworm to silk‘’ in Marianna Bartuca's atelier, which preserves the ancient techniques of silk breeding and weaving.
