Palmi celebrates culture with a major event: the '50 years of activity' of the Amici della Musica Nicola Antonio Manfroce Association, a historic milestone that will be celebrated from 15 October to 23 December 2025 with a rich programme of 22 theatre, music and dance performances.
The festival opens on Wednesday 15 October at the Manfroce Theatre at 8.30 pm with a musical melologue dedicated to the legend of 'Donna Canfora', with music by Roman composer Fabrizio de Rossi Re and performed by actress Annalisa Insardà. The following day, Thursday 16 October at 9.15 pm, the mythological action 'Glauco e Scilla' (Glaucus and Scylla), inspired by Ovid's Metamorphoses, will premiere, with music and text by Fabrizio de Rossi Re and performed by Leonardo Gambardella, Merita Cala and Maria Chiara Forte.
The programme includes concerts by great international pianists and renowned Calabrian artists, including Giuseppe Albanese (17 October), Roberto Cappello (18 October), the duo Francesco and Vincenzo De Stefano (23 December) and Giuseppe Gullotta (1 November). There will also be performances by the wind orchestras of Melicucco and Laureana di Borrello, with the participation of saxophonist Mario Marzi, and the orchestras of the conservatories of Vibo and Reggio Calabria.
The theatre will take centre stage with the Mammut company on 17 November, which will present 'La ricotta bianca' (The White Ricotta), a tribute to the Palmese storyteller Letterio Di Francia, and with performances by Dario De Luca (22 November), Dario Natale (30 November) and Monica Guerritore (6 December), also from Palmi.
