The Primavera dei Teatri festival takes place annually in Castrovillari, between May and June.
Founded in 1999, Primavera dei Teatri is the festival focusing on the new languages of the international contemporary scene and is today one of the leading events on the Italian artistic scene.
An essential point of reference for professionals, critics, artists and audiences from all over Italy and abroad, Primavera dei Teatri is an outpost of new creativity in southern Italy, a place where artists, professionals and audiences can meet and exchange ideas.
Not only dozens of performances with a rich and varied programme for the public, but also an opportunity of residency for national and international artists who wish to experiment and submit their innovative creations to the judgement of experts.
