Rabarama Statues
Point of interest
Regione Calabria
Among the most famous sculptures in Calabria, the Statues of Rabarama in Reggio Calabria, along the splendid Via Marina, are an explosion of colours and plastic poses. Visitors to the city cannot fail to be fascinated by the works of this original Roman artist, born Paola Epifani. Rabarama's Statues can be found along the street parallel to the Lungomare Falcomatà, alternating with other characteristic elements, such as the monumental Ficus Constrictor, the ‘’strangler trees‘’ whose roots are themselves natural works of art, and the ancient epigraphs that tell the most ancient history of Reggio Calabria. The Rabarama Statues are three: Trans-letter, Labirintite and Co-stell-action, all made in 2000 with anthropomorphic likenesses (giant, gaze-less human figures) clad in bright colours and irresistible to photograph.
