Spiaggia di Punta Fiuzzi, Praia a Mare - Regione Calabria

There is a beach along the Riviera dei Cedri that is a treasure trove of natural beauty. It is Punta Fiuzzi Beach, situated in Praia a Mare (CS), looking directly out towards Dino Island. The ancient Fiuzzi Tower, a watchtower built on the sea stack of the same name during the 16th century, overlooks the beach. A picture-postcard scene of enchanting colours, with the turquoise sea contrasting against the silhouette of the dark rocks, the grey sand and the greenery covering the island’s slopes. It is no coincidence that it is considered one of the most beautiful beaches along the coast and has the distinctive feature of being practically divided into two sections with different characteristics, to the right and left of the island. What they share is a south-facing aspect, ensuring this stretch of coastline is constantly bathed in sunshine. Some sections of the beach are public, whilst others are equipped with beach establishments offering every kind of service to tourists spending the day there. Naturally, there are also bars and restaurants.

From this beach, the Island of Dino can be admired in all its beauty. Those wishing to explore the island can do so by boat or by hiring a canoe or pedalo. Using these means of transport, it is easy to reach and explore the caves around the island. Among the most striking are the Blue Cave (so called because of the colour of the water inside the cave) and the Lion's Cave, which owes its name to the shape of the rocks, reminiscent of a large feline lying on the water. Near the beach, there is a large, secure car park available for a fee.
