Archaeological Area
Toscano Square is the most important archaeological area of the city by extension and complexity. The site, freely available through a modern museum display in crystal and steel, has an urban stratification that goes from the fourth century BC to the present day. The most important structures have emerged in 1998, during the redevelopment work and include: a large building in limestone and the remains of houses dating to the Brettia era (IV-III century BC); the superposition of a sumptuous Roman domus of imperial age (II-III century AD), decorated with mosaic floors and polychrome plaster; four burials dating to Late Antiquity and several intersections walls and ducts from the Renaissance to the present.
