Opera by Tresoldi

The Lungomare Falcomatà is the setting for a recently inaugurated installation: Opera by Tresoldi (2020), an explicit reference to the city's Magna Graecia origins. Commissioned from the artist Edoardo Tresoldi, Opera consists of a colonnade of 46 columns covering an area of 2500 square metres. The structure is made entirely of wire mesh. Its significance? Artist Tresoldi explains:

I wanted to create a monument to celebrate the contemplation of the Strait of Messina and thus play with the elements of the park where Opera is located. It is an open architecture that accompanies people's moments of contemplation within the space.
