The jewel in the crown of Savelli, in the Sila National Park in the province of Crotone is the Astrosavelli - Lilio Astronomical Park, an unmissable place for stargazers, which gives visitors the thrill of admiring the starry sky in the midst of nature and offers a series of educational activities for both adults and children. Named after the famous Calabrian astronomer and mathematician Luigi Lilio (Cirò 1510 - Rome 1574), “Astrosavelli” is the right place to learn the rudiments of astronomical sciences and spend a different kind of day, scrutinising the celestial vault in the company of experts.

The “Lilio” Astronomical Park has an observatory with a 5-metre diameter dome; a powerful telescope capable of plumbing the depths of the universe, revealing hidden details of planets, stars and distant galaxies; a planetarium that simulates phenomena observable at different positions, times and epochs through a 10-metre hemispherical dome, a mechanical and a digital projector, for a capacity of 60 visitors sitting comfortably in reclining armchairs; 3D simulations and the possibility of booking astronomical excursions in the forest.
