Spiaggia di Le Cannella, Isola Capo Rizzuto - Regione Calabria

Among the most beautiful beaches in Calabria, the fine sandy beach known as Le Cannella Beach, in Isola Capo Rizzuto in the province of Crotone, on the Costa dei Saraceni, welcomes you with a name that says it all: it immediately brings to mind the distinctive dark red, almost brown colour of the sand, reminiscent of cinnamon. Le Cannella Beach is a corner of paradise nestled in the "Capo Rizzuto" Marine Protected Area, the largest in Italy. It is no coincidence that the beaches of Isola Capo Rizzuto have been awarded the Blue Flag and Green Flag.

The seabed can be admired through scuba diving, but also with excursions aboard a special boat with a transparent bottom that departs from the nearby town of Le Castella. What does Le Cannella Beach have to offer? It should be noted right away that it is a long, free beach with free parking, no equipped bathing establishments and ideal for true nature lovers. How to reach Le Cannella Beach? Follow the clearly visible signs at the junction of the same name in Isola Capo Rizzuto, along the S.S. 106 Ionica road leading to Crotone.

What is there to see near Le Cannella Beach? One place not to be missed is certainly Pélagos, the Museum of the Sea: an interactive space focusing on marine biodiversity, underwater archaeology, history, conservation and sustainability, with a multimedia room and a permanent exhibition centre.
