Historical building

In 1850 Luigi Compagna erected in Schiavonea the Palace of Exhibitions, also known as "Compagna Square", by design engineer Francesco Bartolini from Cosenza. The building, in Neoclassical style, set around a large rectangular courtyard, it was to host annual Fair of May Day (which today takes place on the waterfront on the first Sunday in May) and represented one of the largest exhibition centers of South Italy.
