Church of the Immacolata - Shrine of San Francesco di Paola

Place of worship
Built, with the adjoining convent, in 1543, on the northern outskirts of the village along the main road leading to the nearby village of Parghelia. It stands on a small promontory overlooking on the current port of Tropea, the pier and the underlying part of the city's ancient walls. Legend has it that St. Francis of Paola, on his journey to Sicily, he asked the noble families to build here the convent and the Church for his Minor Friars.
