Abbey of Sant'Angelo de Frigillo

The Abbey of Sant'Angelo de Frigillo stood in the same name, not far from the inhabited center. It was the abbot of the abbey of Santa Maria della Sambucina, Luca Campano, then bishop of Cosenza to want Cistercian monastery as a stand alone abbey. Todayentire structure remains the walls that delimit the church's plant and some decorative stone elements, typical of Cistercian monastic architecture. Other stone parts are preserved in the Church of S.Michele, in Filippa of Mesoraca, and ancient bell in the bell tower of the Retreat.
