Among the most virtuous and courageous realities of young Calabrian entrepreneurship, the Mulinum experience in San Floro has managed to set an example by offering its visitors an authentic "slow living" experience.

Born from an idea of Stefano Caccavari, who in 2016 launched a crowdfunding initiative, Mulinum is now a very special farm, which, starting from the desire to rebuild a complete and controlled wheat supply chain, has put some ancient Calabrian grains back on the market, organically grown and stone milled, to obtain 100% wholemeal flours to be used for bread-making (strictly with sourdough) and other baked products. 

Among the finest breads in Calabria, that of Mulinum (San Floro), was the first step towards bringing to the table a series of genuine delicacies, including pizza.

The last one, served directly in the renovated old mill and, in fine weather, on tables outside, with the characteristic seats on hay bales, is one of the specialities not to be missed during a visit to San Floro and its surroundings.

From start-up to successful enterprise, over the years Mulinum (San Floro) has become a replicable project and a large distribution brand, capable of spreading its "know-how" to other young and enterprising millers in Italy, from Tuscany to Apulia.

A true immersive experience, the Mulinum and the territory that hosts it offer the customer-visitor the possibility of spending a day at a slow pace, alternating tastings with a guided tour inside the mill, including a walk through one of the most "Instagrammed" places in Calabria: the Sunflower Field in San Floro.
