Reggio Calabria - Regione Calabria
Landing at Reggio Calabria's Tito Minniti Airport means enjoying the spectacle of Calabria and Sicily, which seem to touch each other, and being able to fully appreciate the charm of the Strait of Messina. Let's find out together how to get there and what to do and see in the surrounding area before your flight.
Located in the Ravagnese district of Reggio Calabria, this airport is about four kilometres from the city centre and can be easily reached by car, bus, train and hydrofoil (there are several trips throughout the day) for those coming from Sicily and the Aeolian Islands.
There is a railway station (Reggio Calabria Airport) serving regional trains that connect directly to Reggio Calabria Centrale station. Alternatively, you can take the bus operated by Atam, the local transport company. There is also a Volobus service that takes you from the airport to Villa San Giovanni, near the ferries to Sicily. The airport has a 24-hour car park with 180 spaces, some of which are reserved for travellers with disabilities. The airport is connected to Catanzaro, Cosenza and Vibo Valentia via the A3 motorway or the SS 18 state road. From Crotone, take the SS 106 to Catanzaro, then continue on the SS 280 and take the A3.
Visit the city of the Bronzes
Is your flight departing from Reggio Calabria or has it just landed? This is the perfect opportunity to visit the National Archaeological Museum, home to the world's most famous warrior statues: the Riace Bronzes. The city centre is just a few minutes away by public transport or car. There is time for a quick stroll along Italy's most beautiful kilometre, the Falcomatà Seafront. The museum is located in Palazzo De Nava, on Corso Garibaldi. It is impossible not to be moved by the powerful physiques of the Bronzes, which are almost two metres tall. The museum is spread over five floors and the display cases contain artefacts that, step by step, thanks to an effective layout designed for visitors of all ages, tell the story of the region: the prehistoric section, the grave goods from the Greek, Brettian and Lucanian necropolises, and much more.
A stroll through Scilla and Chianalea
Are you in Reggio Calabria and haven't visited a village with a magical atmosphere? From the Stretto Airport, it's very easy to reach Scilla, either by train (half an hour's journey) or by car. It is impossible to resist the charm of Chianalea, the ancient fishermen's quarter, with its houses built on the water and narrow streets that offer glimpses of the sea along the wonderful Costa Viola, beautiful in summer but also full of charm in winter. The ancient Ruffo Castle, which dominates the coast from above and offers a wonderful view, is also worth a visit.

Discover Aspromonte
Have you had your fill of the sea in Calabria, or are you planning to? Don't underestimate the beauty of the Calabrian mountains. You may not know that from Reggio Calabria Airport, you can reach the Aspromonte National Park in just over an hour. Gambarie d'Aspromonte, home to the National Park, is only 46 km away and is a renowned tourist resort in the municipality of Santo Stefano in Aspromonte, located at an altitude of 1,360 metres. You will find hotels, restaurants, shops and ski slopes with ski lifts from which you can see the sea. From Gambarie, you can plan excursions and guided tours of the Park.
