The sun caressing your skin, the intoxicating pleasure of feeling direct contact with nature, of freeing yourself from clothes and conventions and rediscovering harmony with your body. Yes, you are on a nudist beach.
Calabria is a perfect destination for those seeking a place where it is possible to practise nudism. In fact, its marvellous coastline offers unspoilt corners, oases of peace surrounded by greenery and overlooking a crystal-clear sea. Far from prying eyes and hustle and bustle, you can let yourself be enveloped by nature and forget your swimming costume.
Here are the best beaches for your holiday in freedom.
Destination Costa dei Gelsomini, with obligatory stops at Stilo and Riace. Finally, fulfilled by a long walk to discover these surprising villages, only one goal remains: the sea.
In Stignano, on this marvellous stretch of the Ionian coast of Reggio Calabria, you will find a nudist beach on which the flag of Anita, the Italian naturist association, flies. The place is enchanting, with a wide, long sandy shore characterised by pebbly sand and pebbles on which it is pleasant to stroll, dipping one's feet into the crystal-clear sea.
Along the Costa degli Dei, just a few kilometres from Tropea, at Santa Domenica di Ricadi (VV) to be precise, there is a secluded beach frequented by nudism enthusiasts.
To reach it, you have to walk along a path behind the railway station. You will be faced with a beautiful white sandy shore and a sea that here offers ever-changing shades of blue and azure. All you have to do is dive in and enjoy nature in complete freedom.
You are the kind of person who has a clear idea of what your holiday should be: sun, sea, freedom. So welcome to the Pizzo Greco beach, framed by the Capo di Rizzuto promontory.
Here there is a naturist village that gives access to a beach that cannot be reached from the outside and therefore guarantees tranquillity and privacy. This is a historic nudist beach and a popular destination for its natural characteristics: a 500-metre-long sandy shore surrounded by unspoilt nature. Do not forget, in fact, that we are within the Capo Rizzuto Protected Marine Area.
We remain at Isola Capo Rizzuto, where if you love practising nudism, you can choose a holiday dedicated to nature and freedom at the beautiful San Paolo beach. Very fine red sand, turquoise sea characterised by shallow waters. The beach is topped by clay gullies and is sheltered from prying eyes by two high cliffs. The funniest thing is that the clay emerges from the seabed and forms pools in which you can not only bathe, but you can rub it on your skin to enjoy its beneficial effects and "cover yourself" in case you are not yet ready to show off your naked body.
In the province of Reggio Calabria, in Palmi, you can reach the suggestive Ulivarella beach and land in an oasis of tranquillity and privacy, bathed by an emerald sea and surrounded by breathtaking nature.
Here, far from prying eyes, you can enjoy an intimate and authentic experience in contact with nature. Don't forget your mask, the turquoise waters hide treasures waiting to be discovered.
