In Calabria, food is not simply nourishment. It is love, a ritual, a moment of sharing. So not just food, but a special experience in Milan's food and wine venues. Or rather, more: "Food Experience". This is a not-to-be-missed series of tastings organised by the Regional Union of Chefs of Calabria, presided over by Carmelo Fabbricatore, which until 20 December - from 5 to 9 p.m., and then again on 6 and 7 January 2023 - welcomes visitors to Senstation On Ice, the tourism promotion hub set up in the Lombard capital by Grandi Stazioni Retail, of which the Region of Calabria is the main partner. Chef Giovanni De Luca, with his team of collaborators, takes you on a journey of the senses that starts with the tasting of typical products and ends with the discovery of an extraordinary land. Cured meats, spreads, croutons, homemade bread, cheeses, pickles, typical fig-based desserts and the famous pitta 'mpigliata, not forgetting the wines, tell the story, the landscapes, the villages, the hills and the sea of a region that, at the table, boasts traditions handed down from generation to generation. It is a way of conveying the promotion of the area by strengthening a tourist offer that, through knowledge of Calabria - an Extraordinary Calabria - bears witness to the wealth it holds.
