Celebrating New Year's Eve Rai 2025 in Reggio Calabria

Ready for the end-of-year countdown? For the second year running, the Rai New Year's Eve is in Calabria! The chosen setting is Piazza Indipendenza, close to the Falcomatà seafront, with the Strait of Messina as the backdrop for the important kermesse of artists. The RAI New Year's Eve in Reggio Calabria will be broadcast live, as usual, on the evening of 31 December on RAI 1, Rai Radio1 and simulcast on RaiPlay.

The Rai New Year's Eve in Reggio Calabria is an unmissable event to celebrate the New Year together in a truly evocative location.

The event is realised in collaboration with the Calabria Region, Calabria Film Commission Foundation and the City of Reggio Calabria.

The Rai New Year's Eve in Calabria is the closing event 2024 that will bring to the wonderful Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria the greatest artists of the national music scene and all those who want to toast the end of the year in an unforgettable location.

Conducting the Rai New Year's Eve event in Calabria will be presenter Marco Liorni. Old glories and young stars of the national music scene will take turns on stage. Any anticipations? For the moment, the names of Nino Frassica and Paolo Belli are floating among the most popular artists. The Odeon cinema will host the rehearsals of the Big Band musicians directed by Maestro Stefano Palatresi, who will tune up their instruments here before giving all of Italy their thrills in music.

‘’L'Anno che Verrà‘’, as is the Rai tradition, will not fail to host singers, presenters and comedians on stage for a great light-hearted show, rich and entertaining as it was in the last edition, in Crotone, when in Piazza Pitagora Amadeus and the big names of Italian music, from Annalisa to Patty Pravo, ferried thousands of people into the new year. 

If the last edition of the RAI New Year's Eve in Calabria involved the Sila National Park, with a bus service dedicated to ski enthusiasts, who could reach the main Calabrian slopes directly from the city in no time at all, this year the scenery surrounding the event is that of the Strait of Messina, between the splendid Costa Viola and the Aspromonte National Park. The city of Reggio Calabria is preparing to welcome the public to the event, which, once again, is expected to be extraordinary in terms of record attendance and ratings.

This year the event will also be accessible from Cosenza, Catanzaro Lido and Lamezia Terme by train with Trenitalia regional trains (Reggio Calabria Lido station stop - below the venue); in fact, additional trains have been scheduled by the Region of Calabria - Department of Sustainable Mobility Services and Local Public Transport in collaboration with ArtCal (Calabria Regional Transport Authority) in the pre-event time slots (with arrivals in Reggio Calabria by 11 pm: 00) and post-event (with departures from Reggio Calabria between 02:15 and 03:30) to make it easy to reach the event venue.
