Wine in the Village

The Wine in the Village festival is an entertainment event with Calabrian artists in the streets of the village and it is combined with a food and wine event with tastings of typical products and workshops on the preparation of typical products. The initiative, launched over 10 years ago, continues to be very popular and successful. The setting of the event is the charming squares and alleys of the small town of Crotone.

Visitors, between one stand and another, as well as seeing how these products are prepared, can taste the best of local and provincial food and wine production, sardella, pipi e patate, kulumolli (a product recognised as De.Co.), krustuli le llallane, kucupe, petule, as well as pasta, honey, cheese, cured meats and extra virgin olive oil DOP, all accompanied by Calabria's most famous wine Cirò rosso DOC, Melissa DOC, and numerous IGT wines, the utmost expression of peasant culture and love for the land that recall traditions almost forgotten elsewhere. The stands also include artists and craftsmen exhibiting their work.

Good food, but above all music and entertainment, amidst gazebos and scents wafted from the traditional Arbëreshë dishes and delicacies prepared by the skilful hands of housewives, musical groups, photo exhibitions and storytellers perform. Each alley is enlivened by an artist who, with soft and accompanying music, delights the evening, creating a whole, as as you pass through the alleys you will hear good music and taste good wine, sampling local food and wine delicacies.
