One of Calabria's most eagerly awaited cultural events is back: the award ceremony of the 39th “Troccoli Magna Graecia” National Literary Prize, a prestigious award dedicated to the enhancement of research, historical memory and cultural identity of the territory.

The 2025 edition will take place on 17 May 2025 at the Municipal Theatre of Cassano all'Ionio, in the presence of municipal, provincial, regional and national authorities. Among the first winners announced for the Research section are Agostino Conforti, Gianfranco Donadio and Francesco Spingola, authors of the documentary Sale & Sapienza (Salt & Wisdom) dedicated to the Lungro salt mine: a journey through working-class memories, arbereshe traditions and working landscapes. Alongside them, the prize will go to engineer Francesco Garofalo, with an excellent thesis on the conservation and enhancement of the Masseria Torre della Chiesa in Cassano all'Ionio, a virtuous example of cultural regeneration of the rural heritage.

For almost forty years, the Troccoli Magna Graecia Prize has been a point of reference for those who preserve and pass on the historical and cultural roots of Southern Italy. An opportunity for comparison, reflection and recognition for those who continue to tell the story of Calabria through the written word, research and intangible heritage.
