In the magical atmosphere of the Marrana Tower amphitheater, overlooking the Tyrrhenian coast of Calabria, the first edition of the Torre Marrana Festival kicks off, a summer festival that will bring six unmissable events to Ricadi from 4 to 29 August 2025, including theater, music, poetry, and dance.
A festival designed to promote culture and beauty, in a place that is already a spectacle in itself. The program, carefully curated by the municipal administration, features nationally renowned names and artistic projects that tell stories, identities, and passions.
It kicks off on August 4 with Maria Grazia Cucinotta starring in Malena e il Tango, directed by Francesco Branchetti: a theatrical and emotional journey into the fascinating world of tango, between poetry and music. On August 6, it is the turn of Ragazze del paese accanto (Girls from the neighboring village) with Femmina come la terra (Female like the earth): an all-female concert that combines different cultures and sounds, recounting the soul of women in all the languages of the world. On August 11, one of the great interpreters of Italian theater takes to the stage: Michele Placido in Serata d'onore (Evening of honor), a recital of immortal verses and music, accompanied by Gianluigi Esposito and Antonio Saturno. On August 14, jazz will take center stage with Emanuele Marsico Quintet in Carosello Napoletano: a tribute to the great Neapolitan melodic tradition reinterpreted in a jazz key, with refined influences and new sound suggestions. On August 18, the deep and poetic Calabria of Otello Profazio will be brought back to life in the voice and narration of Peppe Voltarelli, in Voltarelli canta Profazio, winner of the Tenco Prize. The eventi will end on August 29 with Parafoné in Capre Diem: an explosion of Calabrian folk music and Mediterranean sounds, combining innovation, roots, and a contemporary vision.
