From 31 July to 3 August 2025, San Fili will once again be illuminated by the energy and charm of “The Nights of the Witches”, the historic festival now in its sixteenth edition. An immersive experience that winds through squares, alleys and natural landscapes, created to celebrate the figure of the Magara, a wise woman and guardian of ancient herbal, spiritual and community knowledge. Once a healer and midwife, today she is a symbol of deep connection with the earth and ancestral knowledge.
The programme opens on 31 July with the conference “Non c'è filo d'erba senza la sua radice”, a journey through medicinal herbs and traditions, followed by the performance “Magarìa – Il ritorno delle Magare”. From 1 to 3 August, the festival comes alive with travelling shows, dance, acrobatic shows, street artists and street bands; exhibitions, art installations and live music; holistic and herbal workshops, tastings and artistic crafts, and meetings with the Magare, in an intimate space dedicated to storytelling, listening and healing.
New for 2025:
- Magara Trail, a race on trails surrounded by nature.
- Paths of Art and Faith, a guided tour of spirituality and history, also available in digital format.
- Astronomical observatory in the shade of the centuries-old “Curcio” chestnut tree, on 2 August.
- Children's Area – La Piazza delle Meraviglie (The Square of Wonders), for a family-friendly festival.
The festival will end on 3 August with a concert by singer Briga, special guest who will receive the traditional Black Cat, the festival's symbol of good luck.
