The Great Journey of the Olympic Flame

In December 2025, Calabria will welcome the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic Torch Relay, a symbol of unity, sport and passion. The route through the region begins in Reggio Calabria, a city with a Magna Graecian history and home to the famous Riace Bronzes.

On 20 December, starting from Reggio Calabria, the torch will pass through Gioia Tauro, Rosarno and Tropea, known as the Pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea, before continuing on to Vibo Valentia and Lamezia Terme, important cultural and commercial centres. The day will end in Catanzaro, the City of Two Seas, passing through historic alleys and ancient monuments. On 21 December, the flame will reach Cosenza and Crotone, illuminating cities rich in history, art and traditions, before leaving Calabria to continue its journey towards Campania.
