On Sunday, February 22, 2026, at 3:30 p.m., the 106th edition of Frassie will take place at Piazzetta Funtanella in San Giovanni in Fiore. This event renews one of the city's most heartfelt traditions.
The Frassie represents a moment of identity for the community, where memory, folk tales, and collective participation intertwine during this time-spanning event. Frassie are satirical rhyming compositions recited publicly during the Carnival period. Through these compositions, events and protagonists of social and political life are commented on with irony. The event evokes the atmosphere and language of local culture, restoring the square to its role as a shared space and a place to meet and express tradition.
