On 31 October 2025, the State Archives of Cosenza will inaugurate the exhibition "Telesio and the city", an event dedicated to Bernardino Telesio, a philosopher who symbolises the Renaissance and the cultural life of the city. The exhibition, organised in collaboration with Civitas Solis Cosenza – APS, offers a journey through historical documents from the 16th century and philosophical dialogues, allowing visitors to rediscover Telesio's influence on modern thought and the cultural development of the city.
The day will begin at 9 a.m. with institutional greetings from director Maria Spadafora and a presentation of the exhibition coordinated by Luigi Gallo. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the first philosophical dialogues will be held with Roberto Bondì, Luigi Bilotto and Riccardo Barberi, while in the afternoon, starting at 4.30 p.m., Antonio Romeo, Dellì Fabiano and Mimmo Tàlia will further explore Telesio's thought. The event will conclude at 6.30 pm with a musical interlude by Chiara De Carlo, Pietro De Rose, Maria Chiara Maiolino, Fabio Napoletani and Luigi Sassone on the piano.
The exhibition will continue on 4 December with philosophical dialogues, poetry readings and live classical music, further exploring the link between Telesio and the city of Cosenza.
From 1st November to 24th December: Monday-Friday 9:00 am – 1:00 pm; Monday and Wednesday 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm
