Summer Peace University

The Summer Peace University returns to Belvedere Marittimo, an international initiative promoted by the Calabrian Institute of International Policies (IsCaPI) with the patronage of the Municipality. The event transforms the Tyrrhenian village into a widespread campus, with weeks of teaching, workshops and diplomatic simulations aimed at students and teachers from Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America.

The SPU is a global laboratory dedicated to international dialogue, conflict prevention, active citizenship and sustainable development. The 2025 programme is divided into two main areas: the first week is dedicated to geopolitics, global economics, energy security, geofinance and artificial intelligence; the second explores sovereignty, power and contemporary conflicts, with a particular focus on hybrid wars and institutional resilience. Every Friday, Peace Lab Diplomacy simulations place participants in real crisis scenarios, while International Forums open the debate to the public.

Main events:

• Friday 10 October, 6:00–8:00 p.m. – International Forum: 'The Future of Global Order: Between Competition, Cooperation and Conflict', with ambassadors, international experts and SPU students.
• Friday 17 October, 6:00–8:00 p.m. – International Forum: "Beyond Borders: Peace Dialogues and Autonomy for Stateless Peoples," with diplomats, academics, and students.
