Skanderbeku – Prindi i Arbëreshë

The historical commemoration dedicated to Giorgio Castriota Skanderbeg, the hero who marked the history of the Arbëreshë people, is back in Lungro. On Saturday 1 March 2025, the historic centre of the Calabrian village will come alive with the 7th edition of ‘Skanderbeku - Prindi i Arbëreshë’, an event that celebrates the identity and traditions of the Arbëreshë community through history, culture and re-enactment.

The appointment is at 3 p.m., with the departure of the procession from the Church of Santa Maria di Costantinopoli. Figures in period costumes will parade through the streets, while performances, traditional dances and re-enactments will bring to life the heroic deeds of Skanderbeg, symbol of freedom and resistance.
